JOHOR BAHRU, OCTOBER 31, 2018 – The Asia’s Biggest 5K Water Run and Music Festival - SongkRUN presented by Mah Sing Group Berhad (Mah Sing) is heading to Johor Bahru this year on 24th November 2018 The run and music festival will begin at 7:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m with a new scenic route along Meridin East Sales Gallery, Johor Bahru designed specifically for everyone to run, play, splash, and dance their way through this fun event.

SongkRUN assures participants could experience the Thailand’s Songkran water festival with us in Malaysia. Participants will be dashing through 5 kilometer run featured with sensation music, fire brigade showers and water guns.

This year SongkRUN course features multiple enhancements Water and Music Zones, with each zone combining a unique theme and a genre of music. Look out for the “Storm zone”, the “Lightning zone”, the “Heat Zone”, the “Fog zone”, and the final station called the “Rain zone”. To top it off, after finishing the run the participants will arrive at the official SongkRUN music festival featuring well known musicians and DJs such as Jessica Loo, Leng Sisters plus many more.

The run organized by Velocity Event Management Sdn Bhd is designed to offer Malaysians the chance to grab your family, friends and head out to the great outdoors and enjoy the scenic route around the Meridin East Sales Gallery, located within the 1,313-acre Meridin East township.

MAH SING’S BIGGEST TOWNSHIP CARRIES OUT IT FIRST VACANT POSSESSION

Kuala Lumpur, 2018 – Mah Sing Group’s (Mah Sing’s) biggest township, Meridin East in Pasir Gudang celebrated its first Vacant Possession (VP) of its first parcel, The Greenway, last Saturday.

The Greenway is fully sold and comprises 492 units of two (2)-storey linked homes with built ups starting from 1,595 sq ft. This is milestone for Mah Sing as the handover kicks off the first of many quality homes to be handed over in the Group’s flagship 1,313-acre masterplanned township, with The Eden scheduled for VP in Q3 2018.

~More than 3,000 Visitors Experienced The Best Of Johor at the Inaugural Bangsa Johor Festival ~

Meridin East, Masai, Johor 2017 – Mah Sing Group (Mah Sing) hosted the inaugural Bangsa Johor Festival in its Meridin East township today. Over 3,000 people turned out to experience the best of Johor’s delicacies, music and performances.

In attendance were Chairman of Johor State Tourism, Trade and Consumerism Committee, Yang Berhormat Datuk Tee Siew Kiong and Mah Sing’s Chief Executive Officer Datuk Ho Hon Sang.

Bangsa Johor Festival – Celebrating the Best of Johor
The Bangsa Johor Festival celebrates the rich culture and diversity of the state of Johor. The festival kicked off with 2,000 participants turning up in the wee hours of Saturday morning for the flag-off of the Bangsa Johor Festival’s 5km Fun Run. This was followed by the launch of the Bangsa Johor Festival by Yang Berhormat Datuk Tee Siew Kiong and Datuk Ho Hon Sang.

Mah Sing’s Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Ho Hon Sang shared, “The focus of the Bangsa Johor Festival is to cultivate a spirit of unity among Malaysians in celebrating the beautiful culture of Johor. It is very much in line with our tagline ‘Reinvent Spaces. Enhance Life’. We have transformed our Meridin East township and made sure to include the best of Johor for this festival as we want today to be a memorable event for visitors.”

In addition to the fun run, there were ample activities for visitors to experience. Three lucky winners took home the recently released Apple iPhone X during the festival’s lucky draw. Visitors were given the opportunity to savour Johor’s delicacies through a variety of food trucks. Visitors were also treated to live performances by local bands Humming Bird, Mediaman, The Teh Tarik King, as well as the Bangsa Johor Drums, a drum performance which combines the musical drum instruments from various races in the nation. Masya Masyitah also made an appearance during the event and fans and visitors enjoyed meeting the local celebrity.

Meridin East - Reinventing Community Living
The Bangsa Johor Festival was held in Mah Sing’s 1,313 acre freehold Meridin East township, the Group’s largest township by acreage. Mah Sing has reinvented the concept of community living with Meridin East as the Group aims to ensure residents have quality living experience. 40% of the township will encompass lush green spaces and the Group plans to plant several thousand native trees around the 9-acre Mulberry Lake to preserve and enhance the natural flora and fauna.

The township has also allocated 110 acres to develop various activities, such as the 2.5km recently completed cycling and jogging path to encourage exercise and healthy living. Mah Sing is very supportive of the Government’s initiative to develop more Chinese schools in Johor and Meridin East will be welcoming SJK (C) Sim Mow Yu within the township. The Group has allocated approximately 9.66 acres to build SJK (C) Sim Mow Yu and this new addition is set to increase the townships appeal, especially for married couples and young families.

MERIDIN EAST GETS AN ADDED BOOST AS MAH SING AWARDS KIMLUN GROUP RM50 MILLION DESIGN AND BUILD CONTRACT TO BUILD A CONNECTING ROAD INTO SENAI DESARU EXPRESSWAY

Meridin East, Johor 2017 – Mah Sing Group (Mah Sing) has awarded Kimlun Group a RM50million design and build contract to build a connecting road into the Tanjung Langsat – Cahaya Baru Toll Connecting Highway, which forms part of the Senai Desaru Expressway (SDE). Mah Sing’s Meridin East township, will reap the benefits from the construction of the connecting road as it will shorten travel time to key locations such as Tanjung Langsat and Pasir Gudang between 15 minutes to 45 minutes.

This was announced today during a press conference by both parties at Mah Sing’s Meridin East Sales Gallery and Show Village. In attendance were Mah Sing’s Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Ho Hon Sang, Mah Sing’s Senior General Manager (Southern), Benjamin Ong, Kimlun Group’s Executive Director, Chin Lian Hing as well as Pasir Gudang Municipal Council’s Secretary, Saipol Rahmat Bin Hj Amat.

Mah Sing’s Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Ho Hon Sang shared, “We are pleased to award this contract to Kimlun Group for their excellent track record and expertise in road construction. In the span of almost 20 years in building flyovers and interchanges, a good number of years were spent working with Mah Sing. We are more than confident that this road construction project is in good hands.”

“It’s a great pleasure for Kimlun Group that Mah Sing has decided to award this contract to us. We are really privileged to have business associates like Mah Sing and hope that our collaboration will take both organisations to greater heights,” shared Chin Lian Hing, Kimlun Group’s Executive Director.

During the press conference, Mah Sing also gave an update on the Group’s Meridin East township. “In addition to shortening the travel time to Tanjung Langsat and Pasir Gudang, the connecting road will also enhance connectivity by allowing easier access to the SDE as well as the North South Highway. This will make Meridin East an even more appealing address for buyers as we offer affordably priced homes with excellent facilities and accessibility. Meridin East’s 2-storey link homes, Fern (Parcel 1) and Dandelion are of high quality and affordably priced from RM403,750 and RM549,100 respectively,” commented Datuk Ho Hon Sang.

New Infrastructure Set To Be A Welcomed Edition to Masai Community
The connecting road comprises an egress and ingress into the Tanjung Langsat – Cahaya Baru Toll Connecting Highway which will allow traffic to commute between the Jalan Kong Kong and Masai area to Tanjung Langsat and Pasir Gudang. The connecting road is also just 1km away from Mah Sing’s Meridin East township, an additional feature which will attract homebuyers looking for homes with excellent accessibility.

The egress from the connecting road into Jalan Kong Kong will be approximately 1km long and one and a half lanes wide while the flyover ingress from Jalan Kong Kong into the connecting highway will be approximately 1.5km long and two lanes wide. Construction on the connecting road is set to begin in Q1 2018 with completion scheduled for end 2020. A principal approval has been obtained from the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) for the connecting road while pending approval by relevant authorities on the detailed design plans.

In addition to the connecting road into the Tanjung Langsat – Cahaya Baru Toll Connecting Highway, Mah Sing has started upgrading works to widen Jalan Kong Kong to a 40 meter, four-lane thoroughfare. The upgrading process is being done in phases and it is scheduled for full completion by end 2020.

Meridin East’s sales gallery and show village will also be converted into the township’s clubhouse in the near future. The 16,000sq ft clubhouse will house a swimming pool, community hall, gym, yoga room, lounge and café, mini theatre and other features.

As an integrated mixed development, Meridin East will be able to cater to multiple needs for the community which include education, banking, leisure and more. The township is expected to welcome an international school, secondary & primary school as well as a kindergarten, childcare center, hospital, police station, fire station and post office in the future.

Mah Sing to Launch Fern Parcel 2 in November 2017
2017 saw Mah Sing launch 2 new residential developments in Meridin East. The Group launched the first parcel of Fern comprising 84 units of 2–storey link homes with built ups from 1,622 sq ft (4 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms) as well as Dandelion comprising 90 units of 2-storey link homes with built ups from 2,333 sq ft (4+1 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms). Fern and Dandelion have a combined take up rate of more than 55%.

Mah Sing will be launching the second parcel of Fern which comprises 130 units of 2-storey link homes with built ups from 1,622 sq ft. The units are indicatively priced from RM408,850 and scheduled for launch in Q4 2017.

In 2016, Mah Sing successfully launched Eden and Greenway which achieved take up rates of 100% and 90% respectively. Datuk Ho Hon Sang shared, “The Group will continue to launch products which meet market demand at affordable prices.
